Three  Senior High School students of Zamboanga del Norte National High School made their way on clenching the debate trophy after reigning supreme in the Lantugi Cup 2019 Inter-school dedate Championship Round held at Dipolog Medical Center College Foundation,Inc Auditorium last September 19.

The said debaters, namely: Jean Marie C. Canete, Sharmae J. Paculanang and Franz Harmon A. Genobaten with their coach Mrs. Eldy A. Jaboneta were able to secure a back-to-back win for the school since the ZNNHS debating team also won in the said competition the previous year, in the senior high school category. 

Geared with the subtilities on debating and knowledge in lined with the hottest current issues in the community, the school's debating team was able to lambaste Dipolog Medical Center College Foundation, Inc (DMCFI), Punta National High School (PNHS) and Andres Bonifacio College (ABC) debaters during the elimination round last September 7, still enabling them to hack out the title as the overall champion against ABC in a modified Oxford-Oregon type in the championship round.

Meanwhile, Paculanang , one of the team's debaters was proclaimed Best Speaker and Best Debater during the said competition. 

Lantugi Cup, is a debate competition sponsored by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines - Zamboanga del Norte Chapter as part of their activities in the Law Week celebration.
